Scholarship Application

How do you apply for a scholarship award? The Dutch in DCI Foundation will only process applications that meet all of the criteria below:
 
1. Write an email with an attached letter (dutch or english) to the Dutch in DCI Foundation that includes at least the answers to the following questions:
  • What is the motivation/explaination of why your intent to march with a DCI corps?
  • Name of the corps you intent to march and your status with them (please state if you have been accepted yet or not)
  • How do you intent to use your DCI experience upon your return in The Netherlands?
  • Why would you like to receive a scholarship and why do you need this financial support?
  • What limitation do you have to overcome in order to be able to march in a DCI Drum Corps? (school, work etc.)
  • Please add two email recommendations from two Drum Corps related references (no family) that support your plans.
2. Email the letter to management@dutchindci.com before the cut off date.
  • Applications after June 1st will not be accepted.
  • If you would like to be eligable for the 2 Dutch in DCI webvoting scholarships, your will need to get your application letter and also the 2008 web voting word document completely filled out and sent in before March 1st.
  • You will get a "received email" confirmation of your application within 14 days after your application and you will receive a Dutch in DCI patch in the mail.
  • All applicants, who end up receiving a Dutch in DCI scholarship, agree to become Silver Member of the Dutch in DCI Foundation and will get their a one-year free membership (the year of application). All membership conditions apply.
When you get awarded a Dutch in DCI Scholarship we ask you to support the Dutch in DCI Foundation in a couple of ways. It is important that you take pro-active initiatives during and after the Drum Corps season on these criteria:
  1. Get a spot in the DCI Drumcorps that you applied for and keep a spot until the DCI World Championships.

  2. Sew the supplied Dutch in DCI patch on the upper-arm of your DCI corps jacket

  3. Submit a total of 3 newsflashes of a minimum of 100 words to management@dutchindci.com. One in May/June, one in July and one in August. 

  4. Submit an evaluation report on your season in September to dci.org and Dutch in DCI. This should mention your Dutch in DCI scholarship and include at least two pictures of you.

  5. Become our special guest at the Annual Dutch in DCI banquet and sent in a written report on the banquet within one week after.

NOTE: Scholarship winners that end up not meeting the above criteria will have their awarded scholarship withdrawn.
